The famous manufacturer has electrified one of its models
A LUXURY carmaker has confirmed the release of an EV model that'll replace the original gas version.
The news were shared this week, with the new vehicle expected to enter production in the latter half of 2024.
Porsche has announced their electric Macan SUV.
It's the first time when the brand has electrified one of its models, reports The Verge.
The gas version of the Macan will remain for sale for the next couple of years, but the carmaker is preparing to phase it out.
Starting 2026, the gas-run Macan will no longer be available for sale from Porsche.
The Macan EV is available for sale starting at $80,450, an affordable price for the luxury brand.
Pre-orders are open, with Porsche claiming that shoppers can expect the car at mid 2024.
The Macan EV is the second electric vehicle to be made by Porsche, cementing its interest in the electronic vehicle industry.
It'll be available in two models, the Macan 4 and the Macan Turbo.
The former will churn out 300kW, or 402 horsepower, while the latter will produce 470kW, or 630 horsepower.
Details about the Macan include various wheel options, sizes, and a battery that can charge from 10 to 80 percent within 21 minutes.
Buyers can also expect traditional and stylish Porsche details in its design like a full-width light bar, a fastback silhouette, a curved display inside the vehicle, and AC and volume controls in a floating center console.
Some new features include a headlight, ambient interior lightning, and more.
Porsche released its first EV in 2019.
The Taycan is described as a sports car, and came out in 2019, for a starting price of $92,550.
